Hawk Kitchens & Bathrooms began with a simple idea.
We work with two British kitchen manufacturers, Kitchen Makers by Burbidge and Masterclass Kitchens.
We choose between them according to the style of kitchen you want to create and the level of specification that best suits your budget.
What matters to us is that both offer real quality, strong design flexibility and the kind of attention to detail that stands up in daily life.
Kitchen Makers by Burbidge
Kitchen Makers by Burbidge brings a deep furniture-making heritage to every kitchen they produce. The business began in 1867, introduced its first kitchen range in the early 1970s, and is now led by the fifth generation of the family.
That history matters because it shows in the way they think about timber, proportion and craftsmanship, not as surface detail, but as the foundation of the whole kitchen.
Their strength is in-frame and timber-led cabinetry with a more furniture-like feel. Burbidge doors use 23mm European ash framing with mortice-and-tenon joints, while drawers are available in solid European oak with dovetail joints.
They also highlight hand-sprayed painted finishes and a wide choice of shapes, sizes and finishes, which gives us the freedom to create kitchens that feel more tailored and architectural.
What sets Burbidge apart is the sense of craft. They hold the Manufacturing Guild Mark from The Furniture Makers’ Company, and their own language focuses on careful timber specification, specialist joinery and kitchens made precisely for the room they will occupy.
For clients drawn to in-frame design, fine detailing and a more classically British feel, Kitchen Makers by Burbidge offers a level of character and cabinetmaking depth that is hard to ignore.
masterclass kitchens
Masterclass offers a different kind of strength. They have been making kitchens in the UK since 1975, and their manufacturing page says they produce from an 80,000 sq ft facility.
Their range is broad, flexible and highly considered, which makes them an excellent choice when we want to balance beautiful design with smart cabinetry innovation and strong value at different levels of budget.
One of the standout differences with Masterclass is the cabinet engineering. Their cabinets are designed without the usual centre post, which they say improves access and increases usable storage.
They also specify fully rigid construction, up to six supporting legs, 18mm top and back panels, and 600mm-deep cabinets offering up to 30% more storage space than industry-standard options. That focus on the cabinet itself gives the kitchen a feeling of substance, not just style.
Masterclass also stands out for versatility. Their manufacturing page references more than 16,000 cabinet configurations, while their cabinet page highlights a wide choice of cabinet and door colours, coordinated drawer-box finishes, and a large collection of storage features and dressers.
Add to that their precision-cut manufacturing, expert assembly, Blum hinges and fittings, and final quality checks, and you get a kitchen that is beautifully resolved, highly practical and designed to work hard for everyday life.
