BUYING A BESPOKE BRITISH MADE KITCHEN

Bespoke is a word used frequently in the world of luxury design. Bespoke design is fundamentally about creating a product that is precise to a client’s brief or specification. When you have a vision of what you would like your kitchen to look like, your vision is what you expect; a design that is truly individual.

Offering various styles to suit every taste, for homes both large and small; our kitchens are built to last a lifetime. Whether you choose one of our contemporary handle-less kitchens or a timeless wooden shaker style, what we think is important is that each element within a space is looked at individually and considered carefully to meet your needs. This is part of our approach and we spend time understanding our client’s lifestyles and delivering the details that makes their kitchen unique.

All of our bespoke kitchens are handmade by skilled British carpenters from their workshops in the heart of the Peak District, something we are very proud of. The fact our kitchens are made in Britain signifies their quality and timelessness. Every frame, shelf and door is hand crafted right down to the traditional joints that connect everything together and stabilise the wood.

We value the work and craftsmanship that goes into our designs, from the workshops in the Peak District where craftsmen hand craft the individual pieces, to our fitters who still use traditional techniques to ensure everything fits like a glove.

Our bespoke service also extends beyond kitchens, meaning we can create furniture for anywhere in your home. From sideboards for the hallway and built-in shelving for the living room, to wardrobes for the bedroom and beyond; we can create something to fill any space to the millimetre. The perfect made-to-measure piece.

When it comes to designing beautiful bespoke kitchens for homes around Hertfordshire, going above and beyond comes as standard for us and is one of the many reasons that customers choose to come to Hawk K&B.

Meet Our New Carpenters

To strengthen our growing team, we are pleased to welcome two new carpenters to Hawk K&B. Rob Clarke, started his career as an apprentice for The National Trust, conserving traditional buildings. He has since been involved in a variety of projects, working on a number of ecclesiastical buildings as well as working for several private clients involving producing and fitting a range of bespoke joinery products. Rob also has extensive experience with some of the UK’s best independent kitchen companies, fitting them into some of London’s top luxury homes.

Dan Miles brings with him over 12 years of professional experience in carpentry and joinery across various private and corporate projects, delivering creative and individual designs with flair and sensitivity. Dan has a particular interest in private projects, working with individuals to help them achieve their exact vision. However, one of his best achievements was transforming a double decker bus into a library for a local primary school.

Both Rob and Dan bring with them a wealth of experience and with Dan’s great personable approach to private projects and Rob’s work in the heritage sector setting him apart, we are very pleased to have their fantastic skills on our team.

Craftsmanship in Kitchens

Here at Hawk K&B, we value the work and craftsmanship that goes into our designs, from the workshops at Neptune where craftsmen hand craft the individual pieces, to our own carpenters who still use traditional techniques to ensure everything fits like a glove. It is also one of the many reasons that customers choose to come to us.

In a world which has become accustomed to throw away items, investing in quality design is now highly important with many clients wanting their kitchen to become a solid piece of the house itself, designed to last with it.

Solid wood cabinetry can guarantee you this. It is a trusted material, used in homes for centuries and above all it’s natural, versatile, insulating and tactile. It is for this reason that Neptune makes all their kitchens in solid timber, never using MDF or chipboard.

Every frame, shelf and door is hand crafted right down to the traditional joints that connect everything together and stabilise the wood. The Neptune Henley kitchen is the perfect celebration of material and craftsmanship and showcases the intricate joinery and natural oak beautifully due to its unpainted appearance. Above you can see the curved pressed layers in the solid oak cornice and the dovetail joins on the drawers.

Showcasing their expert skills with wood in this way adds to the beauty of Neptune designs, allowing everyone to see the detail that goes into creating such beautiful pieces – something that is valued in today’s mass-produced, commercial world.
